My reflection of this year!! >-<' :D +LAST POST!!

4th ESO has been a tough year. I have learned so many things this year... I think it has been the only one that I have "worked my fingers to the bone" (😂😂😁😁) in each subject, but the more I worked the more I realised that I had a loooooooooot left to learn😅😓😟😖.
 

Almost all the things we have learned this year are thanks to our best teacher, Montse!! It has been a very stressful year and I think we have already rushed enough for this year.😥😰 (Could we relax a bit next year...?) 
From phrasal verbs to collocations and from  conditional sentences to reported speech, me and my schoolmates have struggled (You can see my improvements in vocabulary here😏😏😏) while learning how to use them and also every week ever since the third trimester started and our teacher had us to do an exam practice for the FCE we had this year.  😕😥😵😵 
⇭⇭⇭⇭⇭⇭This photo was the first thing we did this year and we have changed so much during it! Some of us have cut our hair or something like that, more physical, and others have changed  in mentality. But we won't be able to return to the past and go back and change our mistakes. 

This is also my last post on Blogger and it has been a pleasure to have all of you reading my posts!!!! 😚😚😚

We all say goodbye to this time we spent together and next year we'll start something new!

NATIVE AMERICANS’ SOCIAL NETWORKS

We've been learning about native Americans this year, their traditions, their clothing and their history. 

Our teacher asked us to build up some social networks for two known natives as if they were from our time. We chose Pocahontas, or as we later learnt, Matoaka, and Sacagawea. Me and my partners Alba and Judith decided to make Facebooks and Instagrams for both of them. 

As our other classmates only uploaded photos from the internet, we thought that taking photos of ourselves would be more creative and so we did.

FIRST CERTIFICATE EXAM: WRITING PT.1 lV

Life nowadays is easier than it was a hundred years ago or we say so. We think that electronic devices and robots make our life easier, but is it true? I think that it is not thanks to electricity but thanks to the changes we have made as a society.  

It is true that we have made a lot of advances in medicine and in science as a whole and that it helps people’s life to be better. And I could also say that we have improved our life by having much more fun with video games, comic books, a lot of new and innovative TV shows and more things like this.

But if we could look back in time, we could see that we wouldn’t have improved our lifestyle if, for example, women hadn’t been able to become free and have their own rights or if we hadn’t accepted Afro-American people or people of other races.

This is mainly why life today is better than how it used to be a hundred or fifty years ago, it’s because we changed the way of looking at others and at the things surrounding us.  

FIRST CERTIFICATE EXAM: WRITING PT.2 lV

Last holiday I worked at a cinema in my hometown. It was a job I took because I wanted to earn my own money and also to be able to go with my highschool friends to Amsterdam, where we went to celebrate the end of the school year.

This job opportunity that I was given is an awesome experience. Me and my friend Lola worked together at the same cinema and it was very funny! Our job depended on the day. Some days we had to be in the tickets office and some others we had to clean the bathrooms or be in the little sweets shop. We switched the assignments we were given in order not to get bored.

I learned many things from this like how to manipulate a till in order to collect the money the visitors give us, how to speak to customers and also how to cook popcorn! We also see the preferences of the people which, by the way, are quite interesting to see.

In my opinion, it’s a great idea that student have these jobs at an early age so that they get used to what is to work every day and to be in a temporary adulthood.  

SPECIAL EVENT!

LLEIDA'S “FESTA MAJOR”

Every year here in Lleida there’s this huge event, the “Festa Major”. This celebration takes place between the 11th and 13th of May because of the Saint Anastasi day. There are a lot of events involving music like dance demonstrations and live group concerts, but there are also big orchestras and choirs for the classical music lovers.

These performances attract all kinds of people and it is a famous celebration all around the province. It is a very funny experience and there are music or people dancing everywhere. This event takes place outdoors and is spread out in different places where there are big stages and performances take place every day.

The first thing anyone has to do the first day of the “Festa Major” is to look for a leaflet. You can find them everywhere. There you will have all the information about the concerts or whatever you want to do. The beginning of the festival is marked with fireworks the first night, and after that almost everyone goes to the amusement park or the “Camp Elisis” where you can listen to famous bands or DJ’s. I don’t like going there at night because there are people drinking and I’m not this kind of person, but my favourite part is going for a walk in “Carrer Major”. You can  find small stages with orchestras and it's very lively, it’s like having your own soundtrack!

This celebration is a must if you come to Lleida at this time of the year! It’s very exciting and worthwhile. Wherever you go it is full of people smiling and having a good time with the family and friends.
